T-Mobile to debut the HTC Desire
Feb 26th
Forgot to blog this, seeing as T-Mobile confirmed this 3 minutes after the official unveiling of the HTC Desire; T-Mobile have announced (via Twitter) that they will be the first carrier in the UK to carry the HTC Desire, the phone formerly known as the Bravo.
No pricing has been announced as yet, but I would expect the phone to be free on a 24-month, £30 contract.
I will be sure as hell camping outside the T-Mobile store at the Trafford Centre waiting to get one; I will also be doing an initial unboxing video and depth hands-on of the Desire.
MWC Roundup – Day 3 (sorry it’s late)
Feb 16th
UPDATE: Yes, I know this is late; got distracted by the missus :p
We’re at the end of the third day of MWC, and today HTC was the star of the show!
Today, the Taiwanese phone makers officially announced three new handsets, two of which were the most speculated and leaked handsets around since Google’s Nexus One.
First up was the HTC Legend, which is the spiritual successor to the hugely successful Hero. The “marmite chin” has been retained, but other than that the phone is a whole different beast.
Then we had the phone that everyone had been waiting for: HTC Desire
The handset formerly known as More >

MWC Roundup – Day One
Feb 14th
Mobile World Congress has now started, so I intend to get together the best bits at the end of the day to bring to you.
Sony Ericsson have kicked off proceedings with a bang, by announcing 2 new handsets; the Vivaz Pro and the Xperia X10 mini.
The Vivaz Pro has most of the features of it’s brother, with 720p video capture, a 640 x 360 wide HVGA touchscreen display, S60 5th Edition (so says the press release, though an SE-tweaked Symbian^2 or Symbian^3 seems more likely), Bluetooth 2.1, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, gee-whiz camera functions, although the camera has been downgraded from the More >
Yet another HTC leaks: this time the Legend
Feb 8th
HTC must either really want some hype before Mobile World Congress, or they really MUST hire better security. Not 24 hours since the Incredible was outed by Mr. Shaky Cam, Engadget have got pictures of another one of the phones that was in the 2010 roadmap of HTC’s that was leaked, the Legend!
The Legend, which is the direct successor to the HTC Hero, will be utilising the HTC SenseUI with Android 2.1 and with 3.2″ AMOLED screen, but will not be running with the 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, but rather the Qualcomm 600MHz MSM7227. The phone also comes with a 5MP More >
HTC Incredible in the wild
Feb 7th
Pocketnow have posted up some video of US carrier Verizon new HTC phone, the Incredible. The Incredible is rumored to be yet another variant of the HTC Dragon/Passion/Google Nexus One/Bravo, and seems to be something to get very excited about!
You will probably get motion sickness from the video, but it does show the phone’s performance is VERY snappy!
The phone is running Android 2.0/2.1 atop a 1Ghz Snapdragon with 256MB of RAM, with a 3.5-3.7″ WVGA screen that may be AMOLED. The Incredible features an optical mouse pointer towards the bottom of the device. On the back, it packs a dual LED More >
It's Upgrade Time: Part One (Updated)
Feb 7th
We’re in upgrade season here at FluidDynamic… Significant Other had her upgrade due on the 9th of February and mine is due on the 1st of March (sigh).
Now, the missus has had a TERRIBLE time with phones during the last 18 months; she started her contract with the Samsung Soul, based on it’s camera; 12 months later, she ditched that is the flash was ruining the pics she took;
We then got her a C905 from CEX… which was barred 2 weeks after she got it as the scum who sold to Computer Exchange reported it stolen. CEX were good about More >
Vodafone gets SE Vivaz exclusive
Feb 5th
Vodafone have announced that they are to stock Sony Ericsson’s latest flagship handset – the Android powered X10 as of April.
This moves will boost SE as it comes just weeks after Vodafone pulled out of a similar deal to stock the X2, after software glitches delayed its launch.
Vodafone’s commitment to the X10 is crucial to Sony Ericsson. It signals the operator’s continuing confidence in the innovative handset manufacturer, after it was dogged late last year with software problems on its new smartphones – the Satio, Aino and the X2. Sony Ericsson must know that the X10 is surely it’s last More >
T-Mobile UK set for Android blitzreig in 2010
Feb 5th
I was as gutted as anyone when Google chose Vodafone UK to be the Nexus One launch partner, but it seems the original kings of Android are looking to hit back… and in a BIG way.
T-Mobile have already announced on their site the LG GW620 and also the Samsung Galaxy Portal i5700 will be released in January, but there are also strong rumors that they are also getting the Sony Ericsson X10 and even maybe the Nexus One.
IF they succeed in getting these handsets, they will have the biggest range of Android handsets in the UK, along with the G2 More >
